Complex PTSD (sometimes called developmental trauma) isn’t about one big event. It’s about the slow, ongoing toll of not getting what you needed growing up: safety, emotional care, stability. Maybe you had to grow up too fast. Maybe you were always walking on eggshells. Maybe no one ever really saw you.
