Hello!

My name is Matthew Kelley

Registered Psychotherapist in Hamilton, ON

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and an Accredited Music Therapist based in Hamilton, ON.  I truly love what I do and it is so rewarding to help people find their path to mental health!

I have extensive experience working with a wide variety of individuals of all ages and walks of life.  What I have learned is that people need connection with others.  We aren't meant to do life on our own.  Sometimes we are able to find help in other people around us, but other times, we need some extra support.  That's where I come in as a psychotherapist.

Together, we will work to:

  1. Get you back on your feet and feeling stable.

  2. Dive in deep to examine the blocks that you are experiencing, whether it’s experiences from childhood, traumas, relationships, or other difficult interactions with the world.

  3. Finally, we will work together to find ways to develop change that sticks so you can experience long term mental health wellbeing.

The path to improving your mental health is a journey that is worth it, and it is my honour and joy to be able to walk alongside of you in it!

Let's get started together!  Schedule a free 15 minute consultation or reach out!

How I Practice

My Therapy Style

Clients have told me that I have a warm and inviting presence in sessions that helps them feel safe to explore their emotions and thoughts.  I like to view therapy as a journey that we are on together.  You are the expert in your own life, and I have my own expertise as a psychotherapist.  We will work to put our skills together to help you learn more about yourself and create the changes you are looking for.  As a member of the LGBTQ community myself, I am LGBTQ+ friendly and welcome people from all walks of life.

About Me

Fun Facts

In my free time, I enjoy visiting local coffee shops, playing music, going on hikes around Hamilton, baking, watching reality TV, and making stained glass art.

Prior to living in Hamilton, I lived in Downtown Toronto for a year.  Before that, I lived in the USA in a small state on the East Coast called Delaware.  It's been a long journey, but I'm happy to be here in Canada! 🇨🇦

I truly believe in therapy because I've seen it be effective for me.  I'm very thankful for all of my previous therapists who have supported me today and in the past!
